SENIOR PRESS RELATIONS & PUBLIC AFFAIRS MANAGER SPAIN

FUNCTIONS

  • Reporting to the Country CEO you are responsible to define the strategy and monthly action plan for External Communications and Public Affairs (PA) activities for Spain in accordance with the central teams
  • You build and regularly update press (journalists) and public stakeholders’ databases
  • You cultivate and enhance a consistent and proactive working relationship with journalists, influencers, associations, and other relevant public/political stakeholders
  • You schedule and coordinate events as well as meetings with key decision makers and stakeholders
  • You create PR related content such as communication plans, press releases, interviews, Q&A documents on national/regional level and monitor all Spanish media to prepare monthly media reports
  • You coordinate PA activities in cooperation with the Country CEO, consultancies, and the central PA team
  • You plan, coordinate, and execute structured PR and PA projects, orchestrating the respective projects
  • You build thought leadership for the company and its Country CEO via PR, speaker opportunities and the company’s as well as the MD’s LinkedIn and Twitter channels regarding Corporate Communications, not customer facing communications
  • You work cross-functionally with different company departments in and outside of Spain

EXPERIENCE

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in External Communications (press relations) out of which 2-3 years also involved in Public Affairs. All of this is experience should be in Spain
  • You hold a BA/BS degree, or similar, in communications, journalism, public relations or politics
  • Native level Spanish with excellent oral and written communication skills and highly fluent in English.
  • Relevant (work) experience in a multinational company and/or Communications (PR) Agency working for relevant multinational companies.
  • Ideally a big part of your experience has been working in/for big b2c companies operating in regulated markets (telecoms, utilities and/or transportation/mobility). The scope of your work being always in Spain.
  • The candidate will have a strong and relevant journalist/influencers list of contacts.
  • You can multitask, able to work with several priorities at the same time and are used to work in a highly dynamic and international environment.
  • You have achieved certain autonomy in your work, with certain structure and organization in your projects.
  • Enthusiasm, team spirit and commitment are amongst your strongest qualities
