ENGINEERING AND MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR FOR R&D

Our client is an international Pharmaceutical CMO/CDMO group with several manufacturing plants in Europe.

For its plant in Madrid , we are looking for a  Mechanical  Engineer (or similar) with 4-5 years’ experience in Project management and Maintenance within the manufacturing or pharmaceutical manufacturing business.

Role: ENGINEERING AND MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR FOR R&D

MISION:

In coordination with the Engineering and Production Maintenance Departments, manage and supervise the maintenance work of the facilities and equipment in the R&D building, as well as the Engineering and improvement projects that are required, always in compliance with any applicable internal requirements and Quality and EHS policies.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

As Maintenance (in coordination with Plant Maintenance and Production Maintenance)

• Prepare the maintenance and calibration plan of equipment, facilities and utilities.
• Plan, coordinate, manage and supervise the execution of preventive and corrective maintenance, calibration and equipment improvement maintenance programs.
• Manage maintenance contracts, control the dates of completion, work carried out, review reports and establish an action plan.
• Daily monitoring of R&D building and utilities. Trends analysis.
• Coordinate the cleaning service in R&D facilities
• Support the EHS department.
• Prepare a training plan for R&D personnel in the handling of process equipment.
• Prepare protocols and procedures for the handling equipment in collaboration with the user.
• Participates in internal GMP & Engineering audits with the maximum efficiency. Collaborate in the preparation of CAPA plans in response to the audits findings.
• Proposes and in co-operation with Engineering teams, ensures the implementation of energy efficiency projects in all groups sites.
• Co-operates with the Engineering and Maintenance teams of the site in order to establish and maintain a technical database, including technical info (layouts, HVAC drawings, licenses/permits etc.) for the site, as well as quotations received for all type of manufacturing & packaging equipment.

As Engineering (in coordination with the Engineering Department)

• Prepare the documentation to submit the CAR for approval.
• Prepare the user specifications (URS) in collaboration with the user, Engineering, HSE and QA, and any other SME that should be involved.
• In charge of planning and coordinating technical engineering initiatives to make sure they can complete a project within their budget and according to a schedule.
• Conduct regular meetings with all parts of project  to ensure clarification and meet specific requirements in a timely manner.
• Track project performance, specifically to analyse the successful completion of short and long-term goals.
• Documents and report project progress to stakeholders and suppliers.
• Ensure internal employees and contractors carry out all work functions as per agreed work methods.
• Always ensures quality construction standards.
• Ensures adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues.
• Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress – Reviews and monitor the project in-depth – Ensures that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
• Monitor and conduct reviews of detailed designs and drawing specifications.
• Responsible to evaluate progress and/ for producing all engineering management reports and providing on-going status of the project-. escalate to management if /as needed.
• Maintain effective and on-going communications with construction and contractor management teams.
• Manages and monitor the commissioning – documentation – implementation of IQ/OQ protocols.

KNOWLEDGE:

Α. Academic Background

• BSc in Mechanical engineering science or relevant field.
• PMP or equivalent certification will be an advantage.

• Proven working experience 4-5 years in project management and maintenance or similar role.
• In-depth understanding of construction procedures, material and project management principles.
• Good knowledge of process equipment.
• Wide financial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Experienced in turnaround situations and change management.
• Good knowledge and understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices and procedures.
• Lean Manufacturing experience
• Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards
